Toshogu Shrine

The Toshugo Shrine is a treasure not only in Japan, but for the whole world to enjoy.
The Toshogu shrine consists 55 main structures, and stands at 640 meters above sea level
The shrine has exquisite beauty architecturally, as well as its paintings and sculpture. It is typical of the Edo period (1603-1867)of the Tokugawa shogunate.

This is a hangin lantern presented by the King of Holland, when lit, it is said to revolve.

These buildings are built in Buddhist style

Portable Shrine shed (Important Cultural Property): Three mikoshi (portable shrine) which are taken out twice a year at the shrine festival are housed in it.

Here is Cryptomeria Avenue, over 350 years old, extending 40km, and 16,000 are still standing.

All places are very impressive, specially the Toshogu Shrine, it's so beautiful. I saw so many photos of Japan but this place is most beautiful among all places.

This is the interior of Haiden(Oratory): Central Hall, a compartment ceiling with 100 phases of dragons gorgeously painted on it.

This compartment ceiling is simply looking great..Japan truly has many beautiful architecture...I had never visited Japan before but now I feel I should visit it once.
