From the 'Metro' newspaper
Stray dogs taught how to drive will show off skills on TV.Mark Vette, an animal trainer, is training the dogs as a part of a Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals campaign to prove that stray dogs are, in Vette's words, just as smart as the $1500.00 dogs pumped out from puppy mills that are badly bred.
In New Zealand too many people write off shelter animals. Monty,an 18 month Giant Schnauzer, dumped at the SPCA by his owners, Porter, a 10 month old Bearded Collie cross, was found wandering the streets in Aukland, and Ginny, a 1 year old Bearded Collie Whippet cross, was discovered emaciated and terrified, locked into a bathroom.
All three dogs will take turns at the wheel of a modified Mini.
