May you find yourself in the world…and may you enjoy the company!
Man is a plural being. When we speak of ourselves ordinarily, we speak of 'I.' We say "'I' did this," "'I' think this," "'I' want to do this" --but this is a mistake.

There is no such 'I,' or rather there are hundreds, thousands of little 'I's in every one of us. We are divided in ourselves but we cannot recognize the plurality of our being except by observation and study. At one moment it is one 'I' that acts, at the next moment it is another 'I.' It is because we do not function harmoniously.

We live ordinarily with only a very minute part of our functions and our strength, because we do not recognize that we are machines, and we do not know the nature and working of our mechanism. We are machines.

We are governed entirely by external circumstances. All our actions follow the line of least resistance to the pressure of outside circumstances.

Try for yourself: can you govern your emotions? No. You may try to suppress them or cast out one emotion by another emotion. But you cannot control it. It controls you. Or you may decide to do something--your intellectual 'I' may make such a decision. But when the time comes to do it, you may find yourself doing just the opposite.

-G.I.Gurdjieff from "Views from the Real World"

I like to say, like the Rastas (Rastafarian Reggae culture) say, "I and I." At one point my signature was: "Aye, I and I love you" which said it well; there are many 'I's, like we have 2 eyes that give us one vision.. he he..

Being "black" and "white," a musician and a computer nerd, having social opinions and being escapist, I always have to I-ntegrate my selves.. he he.. no, really! I might be afrocentric one sentance, then the next say don't generalize AT ALL, and I mean both of them!

I once made up a word: "Synthegration." It has to do with some of the fusionesque music I play - I merge funky clavinette-wah wah and latin montuno, and it is a synthesis, not a cramming it all together. Another concept of mine is "Unidiversity" (see the Third Millennium Thinking link in my signature) - uniting in our diversity.

It will take US ALL to survive healthily and happily here on our heavenly blue ball spinning through space. The asians have a lot to offer as far as health information. The "colored" people their culture, music, dance, arts and vibrant spirituality. The industrious types, their determination and social growth energies. The creative, their visions and sensativities. The violence prone, their protection. The greedy, their ability to gather. The nihilist, their peace and satisfaction with nothing.

Just as we all come together and are "humans," we individually have to integrate our various parts into the one, or unified 'I' that communicates with other humans.

I look forward to the day, when humanity is negotiating with other living beings, and our representative, who must represent the views and wishes of all humanity, will at some point say something like "I wish for _____" and that "I" will be all of us humans! This is a stretch of imagination, but in the positive possibility future, this will happen! There will be an "I" that includes all of us! And we have to include all of ourselves into our individual "I."

I hope I's have made my self(s) clear here.. he he..

Dear Teo,
Thank you for sharing the wisdom.

May human beings learn to set aside the ego
and realize that you and I are really similar and alike.I, You, We are really all "One."

The ego has given our physical bodies many roles to play like I, the mother, I the wife, I the artist, I the teacher, I the carpenter etc...
The soul recognizes only the light within that is love. Love continues to work far out of sight of the ego and it permeates all things.

May we all return to a state of innocence and let go of the personal "I". Let us reach to the light within, and embrace all beings with the single power of "Love."
Let us live in harmony and peace.

Love, Inda
