Emergence
A brown dead seeming thing
I hung
Suspended from a wooden ceiling
Lifeless and unmoving
Yet gradually something in me stirred
I felt a whisper in my soul
Great mother earth calling me
To wake
It started slowly
My mind,
Gently bringing thoughts to focus
activating slumbering sensation
Rapidly the awakening grew swifter
Passing beyond my control
A pre-programmed sequence took over
Pushing my newly woken mind away
And suddenly I was dropping
Freed from my cocooning cell
Free falling
Until
Whispering in my soul
Once more
Mother goddess sighs
Open up, spread your wings
You can fly
The freefall stops
And I am rising
Rapidly flapping these glorious appendages
Lightly ascending upwards
Bourn on Brightly painted wings
That I am sure were not their before
I emerge out of the darkness
Into the light
