Cremona Gets New Violin Museum

CREMONA, Italy -- The northern Italian town where Antonio Stradivari and other master violin-makers worked will open a new museum celebrating the instrument.

Cremona will inaugurate the Museum of the Violin on Sept. 14. In a recreated violin-maker's shop, visitors can watch how the instruments are hand crafted. They can admire creations of Stradivari and other famous Cremona violin-makers, the Amati and the Guarneri families, with the instruments in protective showcases, and hear violins being played.

I actually heard something about it on the radio.
It would be nice to go and explore thrse wonderful handcrafted instruments.

The Tokyo Quarte,t I believe has all Stradivari's instruments.

Thanks for the information.
I would love to go there. It would be nice to see the artisans at work.

The Stradivarius has a fabulous sound. I have heard it at some of the concerts I go to, played by world known violinists.

This is a very nice thing. I wish I could go and see the museum, but sadly my health is not so good any longer and long trips are becoming impossible.

You are right Sue, the Stradivarius has a fabulous sound.

I would love to go to Cremona as well to see those beautiful handcrafted instruments.
The sound is heavenly. I also have heard violinists play the Stradivarius.

I still find this very interesting. I would also love to go to Cremona to see the museum. Sadly, it is not possible at the moment.
