I have not visited this board for over a year. I am retired and live a rather secluded life in a small town. Now that I had a chance to come to the big city and visit my friends, I will leave you with another recipe.

Apple Tart
----------

Preparation 15 minutes
Baking time 2o minutes

Ingredients For 6 servings, or 3 tarts
7 inches (18 cm) wide

7 ounces (200 g) flaky pastry, can be bought frozen.
5 cooking apples, peeled, cored, quartered
Confectioner's sugar to sprinkle on tarts.
4 tablespoons (60g) butter.
3 tablespoons creme fraiche or heavy cream, optional.

Preheat oven to 450F or 240C.
Roll out flaky pastry until it is 1/4 inch or 3mm thick. Cut dow into 3 circles, placing excess dough into centre of each circle. Roll out each circle until it is 7 inches or 18cm wide. Place them on a buttered baking sheet.
Brush each circle with a bit of butter which has been melted.Cut the quartered apples in half and place in a circle on the rolled out circles of dough. Sprinkle generously with confectioner's sugar. Place small dabs of butter on top of the sugar.
Bake tarts in 450F or 240C oven for about 20 minutes. 5 minutes before the end of baking, sprinkle each tart again with confectioner's sugar to glaze the fruit.
Serve warm with or without the cream

Enjoy.
Pierre

Dear Pierre, Merci!

You come to town so rarely and when you do you remember to bring us a recipe. This sounds delicious and so easy to make.

I found a picture of some little tarts,(yours can be made smaller as well). These somewhat resemble your tarts ,except you overlap the apples which makes them much more juicy.

Thank you Pierre! This is one of my favorite cakes. In Switzerland we add an egg and some cream and pour it over the apples before the end of cooking. hmmmmmmmmmm

Dear Pierre,

This is a treat, for my sweetest, unsatiable tooth...apple pie is my favorite dessert,,,and now, I will try Pierre's Apple Tart...

Looks so easy to prepare, and 3 large tarts is perfect...2 for my son, and one for me((smiling)).

I am in a rather secluded, small town myself, and I can resonate with your trip to a bigger city...still now, after many years, I still feel facinated with the big city hustle and bustle, though I admit truthfully, I prefer and adore, the much more sedated, tranquil life of small-town living...

I am new to this cool forum/board, and just thought I'd say hello, and thank you for the delicious recipe Pierre.
