Dear friends,
Victoria Day is early this year.
We will be taking an extra day off to celebrate this long weekend. We will be back next Wednesday.
Have a nice weekend rveryone.

Love,
Sue

Victoria Day (French: Fête de la Reine) is a Canadian statutory holiday celebrated on the last Monday before or on May 24 in honour of both Queen Victoria's birthday and the current reigning Canadian sovereign's birthday.

While Victoria Day is often thought of as a purely Canadian event, it is also celebrated in some parts of Scotland, particularly in Edinburgh and Dundee, as well as in the Cayman Islands, where it is also a public holiday.

Sovereign's birthday

The Sovereign's birthday has been celebrated in Canada since the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901).
May 24, Queen Victoria's birthday, was declared a holiday by the Legislature of the Province of Canada in 1845.

After Confederation, the Queen's birthday was celebrated every year on May 24 unless that date was a Sunday, in which case a proclamation was issued providing for the celebration on May 25.

After the death of Queen Victoria in 1901, an Act was passed by the Parliament of Canada establishing a legal holiday on May 24 in each year (or May 25 if May 24 fell on a Sunday) under the name Victoria Day.

The birthday of King Edward VII, who was born on November 9, was by yearly proclamation during his reign (1901-1910) celebrated on Victoria Day.

Happy Victoria Day

Enjoy your long weekend.

I left the weekend on Thursday night to go to the cottage. This is where I am right now,
enjoying nature and the wildlife.
And best of all, I can sleep in the morning without listening to the alarm clock. I am also enjoying my goodies which I save for the weekends.
Thank you Queen Victoria.

See you all next Wednesday.

Love, Inda

Wishing all of you a relaxing, joy filled "Victoria Day" week end.

It's so good when we can breathe calmly, without the usual feeling of "being chased".

I hope the weather will be nice, so that you can all fully profit from the freedom to enjoy life.

Today here in Rome the sky is rather grey again ...
but relaxing moments are in the week-end's program nonetheless.

Love and joy.
