A diet rich in avocado may keep many types of cancers away. Avocados contain a high percentage of beneficial chemicals called phytosterols and betasitosterol which are the substances that may keep cancers away.

It has also been found that betasistosterol inhibits tumor growth in breast cancers up to 70%.

Avocados also significantly enhance carotenoid(a vital nutrient) absorption. Carotenoids fend off age related diseases.

Avocados contain monounsaturated fat which lowers the incidence of heart disease, by reducing the bad cholesterol.

Avocados may also alleviate diabetes.

Don't overdo it with avocados, just incorporate a modest amount into your diet.

Avocado is great.
Don’t be afraid of avocado. Many people talk about
the avocado as being full of fat and really bad for you. In fact, the avocado is
GREAT food. The fats in avocado are good fats - mono-unsaturated fats (like
those in olive oil) which raise the good HDL cholesterol levels in the bloodstream,
which in turn help neutralize the harmful LDL cholesterol in your blood.

Thank you for this post. I love avocados, but I did not know that they were so good for us. I will make sure that I get some each week. It is very nice to incoeporate avocado into a green salad.

Love,

I love the images. Bounce

A whole medium avocado contains approximately 25% of the recommended daily amount of saturated fat. Avocados also have 60% more potassium than bananas. They are also rich in B vitamins, as well as vitamin E and K[citation

I wonder how much we get from the big one. What are the side effects of an overdose?
