Here are some simple exercises for your eyes. Doing these simple exercises on a regular basis will be very beneficial for your eyes.
Chinese eye massage This massage combines the release of tension with stimulation. It is ideal for stressed eyes and very good for headache prevention. 1. Stroke the forehead-Begin at the middle of the forehead above the eyebrows and firmly stroke the tension away to the sides until you reach the temples. 2. Massage the eyebrows-Grip the eyebrows with the thumb and first finger and work and massage them from the back to the front a few times with an intensity you can tolerate. 3. Concentration point-Massage the point between the eyebrows in circles with one finger for half a minute to one minute. Intense thought promotes tension at this point and this is how to eliminate it. Then your thoughts are free again to move around. **************************************************** Balance the near/far glance This exercise permits you to recreate a selective balance for ongoing, eye- straining, close-up work at the monitor and reading, etc... 1. Choose a position that enables you to glance straight through a window into the distance. 2. Hold your finger or a pen about 10 inches in front of your nose. look for another object farther away along the same line, such as a tree. Glance first at your finger or pen, then at the more distant object, and then alternate back and forward several times. 3. Rest for the duration of about one bteath and fix the near and distant pictures as sharply as possible. Then briefly close your eyes and relax. Notice the reaction in your eyes. 4. You can increase the number of focal points, for example: by going from your finger/pen to a plant on the desk, then to the tree, on to a distant house and finally to the horizon. ![]() |

Thank you for the post.
I believe in eye exercises. It is good to do them at least a few times a week, and it does not take very long. Love, Vicky |

I found another exercise for the eyes.
Close your eyes and then move the eyes, while the eyes are closed, as far to the left, then to the right. Repeat about 5 times. Keep the eyes closed. Move them up and then down as far as you can. Do it 5 times. With the eyes closed, look diagonally as far up as you can and then down. Do one side at a time ( left up and then down to the right.) Repeat 5 times. Then go to the top right and down to the left etc. Finally with the eyes closed, move the eyeballs in a circular motion, first to one side and then to the other. Repeat 5 times. Have fun. Vicky To see is one of God's great gifts to man and to comprehend what we see is doubly so. Furthermore, He has endowed some people with the qualities to see the beauties of life and nature much more than others and they have the greatest gift of all. - Waite Phillips, Epigrams |

Thank you everyone, and thank you Vicky for sharing more eye exercises. These are really good. My yoga teacher taught me these years ago. I had completely forgotten about them. This is an excellent reminder.

I have been doing my eye exercises and I feel good about it.
I found this little article: It's more important to do eye exercises regularly than to do them for a long time. Even 30-60 seconds of eye movement every hour is very helpful. For example, when your computer takes its sweet time to do something, most people just swear at the poor thing and waste the time, but you can make a few circles with your eyes. Even the first day you do this, you should notice that, when you finish working, your eyes aren't as tired as usual. |

Beneficial tips for the eyes.
To reduce mild puffiness of the eyes, steep herbal tea bags, preferably camomile, and then refrigerate. Place cool tea bags under eyes. You can also place chilled cucumber slices under your eyes. Elevate your head at night to prevent fluid accumulation. |

Thank you yoko.
I have heard about placing cold herbal tea bags on your eyes, especially when they are tired. It soothes the tired eyes and overworked eyes. Love, Vicky |

That is quite an eye you have there Vicky
I think it will take a little more than cold tea bags to correct it |

Dear Gisele,
After you do your eye exercises your eyes will become beautiful like this: Close your eyes as tightly as you possibly can. Really squeeze the eyes, so the eye muscles contract. Hold this contraction for three seconds, and then let go quickly. Close your eyes as tightly as you possibly can. Really squeeze the eyes, so the eye muscles contract. Hold this contraction for three seconds, and then let go quickly. This exercise causes a deep relaxation of the eye muscles, and is especially beneficial after the slight strain caused by the eye exercises. Blink the eyes a few times. |
