My calendar, My May, says 2nd full moon, thursday 5/31!

quote:
From: Once in a Blue Moon

Once in a Blue Moon ... is a common way of saying not very often, but what exactly is a Blue Moon?
According to the popular definition, it is the second Full Moon to occur in a single calendar month.

The average interval between Full Moons is about 29.5 days, whilst the length of an average month is roughly 30.5 days. This makes it very unlikely that any given month will contain two Full Moons, though it does sometimes happen.

On average, there will be 41 months that have two Full Moons in every century, so you could say that once in a Blue Moon actually means once every two-and-a-half years.

The 2007 Blue Moon: May or June?
Some sources say that in 2007, there is a Blue Moon in June. Others say that the Blue Moon actually occurs in May. Who is right?
Well, you could see a Blue Moon in May, June or even July, but it depends where in the world you live.

If you lookie here: http://www.obliquity.com/astro/blue2007.html you can find out if your blue moon is May or June!

You MAY have a blue moon! he he.. Tongue

Thank you for the post Teo.
This is perfect timing for me as well. The blue moon here is tonight.

I'll hang out on a cloud and try to catch the blue moon.

I saw the blue moon, and it was really bright.
It looked red instead of blue.
Maybe I am colour-blind Bounce
