We have to learn the ways of relationship in order to discover what it is to feel connected, committed--in order to inhabit the state of oneness. Relationship with fellow human beings is the training ground for our connection with God. Relationships are imperfect, and it is through the acceptance of their imperfections that we can open to the greater realm of the heart. Union with the divine is the ultimate desire of the soul; but what we need to learn is how we can touch godliness in one another first.
