Meet tiny Dancer, a rust-colored, long-haired Chihuahua that may just be the world's smallest dog, weighing 18 ounces and standing not much more than 4 inches tall.

Dancer's owner, Jenny Gomes, said the diminutive Lake County canine may be on his way to being named the world's smallest living dog by Guinness World Records.

quote:
Every dog lover knows how a pooch expresses its feelings.

Ears close to the head, tense posture, and tail straight out from the body means “don’t mess with me.” Ears perked up, wriggly body and vigorously wagging tail means “I am sooo happy to see you!”

But there is another, newly discovered, feature of dog body language that may surprise attentive pet owners and experts in canine behavior. When dogs feel fundamentally positive about something or someone, their tails wag more to the right side of their rumps. When they have negative feelings, their tail wagging is biased to the left.

A study describing the phenomenon, “Asymmetric tail-wagging responses by dogs to different emotive stimuli,” appeared in the March 20 issue of Current Biology.

Woof woof woof!

These are the longest ears I have seen.
He is actually cute, I hope that people don't tug at his ears. I don't know why I have these negative thoughts, but some people do all sorts of funny things to animals.

You really made my day with this thread, I am a huuge animal fan, I've owned a few in my lifetime. What I love most about dogs is the fact that I can actually communicate with them, it's indescribable how great I feel when I am with my dog. I almost lost him once but I was lucky to find him shortly. The very same day I got him one of those dog tags for dogs, it helps me feel more relaxed when I take him for a walk in the park.
