Remembering Angela's Father,
Cyril Seeram Raymond.

This is an excerpt from one of Toronto's newspapers, "The Globe and Mail":

DISPATCH
Today's Paper: Saturday, February 26, 2005 12:00 AM Page M6

No one was really surprised when the visitation for Cyril Seeram Raymond turned into an impromptu concert, with performances that included the singing of Hindu prayers and a rendition of Amazing Grace on steel pans. By the time he died of throat cancer on Jan. 7 at the age of 80, Mr. Raymond had made music in so many different ways that it was hard to keep track of them all.

Forget not that I shall come back to you.
A little while, and my longing shall gather dust and foam for another body.
A little while, a moment of rest upon the wind, and another woman shall bear me.

Kahlil Gibran

Love, Inda

RAYMOND, Cyril Seeram
Peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2005. Highly respected member of the West Indian and Toronto Community and head of the Raymond Family music band. He worked for the Toronto District School Board as a Steel Band Instructor and helped to raise thousands of dollars for charities, temples, churches and the disabled. He has touched the hearts of many with his wisdom, knowledge and talents. Also known as the "Tassa Master" drummer and head of the Heavyweight Tassa Group. He invented a new design for the Tassa Drum and was also one of the pioneers of the Steel Pan Instrument and the first of East Indian descent to play the steel drum. He will be missed by all especially his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, brothers, sisters and families. His deep faith in God will live on forever.

From: http://www.carolweaver.com/ :
... the voice of the drum
is the bridge to the spirit realm ...
... the pulse connecting us to our
earth mother's heartbeat ...

... and the circular shape
is that of the hoop of life ...

... to all who are called to the spirit of the drum ...

... come drum for peace ...
... come drum for healing ...
... come drum for our blessed earth mother ...

Love and light being, Teo Angel Angel

Thank you dear Inda and dear Teo.

Together with you I remember Angela's beautiful father Cyril Seeram Raymond.

He lives on in the hearts of his loved ones and in his music. Even his drums recorded his touch and influence the sound produced by other musicians.

I have no doubt that now Maestro Cyril is playing in heaven to the delight of all who may listen.

Love and light.
