Between sunset and moonrise

At twilight hour I immerse
in the crystal waters of my lake.
Thousands and thousands
of sparks ride the waves.
Except a few dragonflies flitting around
and some seagulls circling the skies,
I am in perfect solitude.

In between the setting sun
close to the blue hills
defining the horizon,
and the rising moon in the east
above tall pine trees,
I quietly swim through an endless field
of incomparable, dancing diamonds.

I am the audience
of the fading day
and of the imminent night.

With half closed eyes I see tiny strings
connecting every single spark
to the indigo sky lingering solemnly above.
I wonder.
Could this stream of light
be the landing runway created by the sun
for souls on a nostalgic tour to planet Earth
which they once called home?

I hold my breath and listen.
Ecstatic whispers burst from bubbles.
I follow an inner urge and softly hum along.
Mystical sounds rise from this stage.
In deep rapture my heart pounds.

While returning reluctantly to the shore
I sense the pull of a thousand loving eyes
I turn around to look back once more
as the sparks slowly ascend into the skies.

I am the audience
of the fading day
and of the imminent night.

Love,
Margherita

Thank you so much, dear Sue! Yes, I have had a good time with my grandsons, Simon and Milo.
Back in Rome it was unbearably hot, but now it seems the temperature is slowly falling, thanks to God!

Hope you too had a relaxing, joyful Summer.

Love and hugs.

Dear Margherita,

Thank you for this beautiful poetic gift.
It makes my spirit reach into the light of the universe.

Welcome back. I am glad that you were able to spend time with your grandsons. I heard that it was very hot in Europe. Here we had an unusually cool summer, but now it is actually quite warm.

Love, Inda

Thank you, dear Inda and dear Gisele, for your loving replies. It feels good to be back here with you.
If Summer wasn't perfect, may Autumn be spectacular and warm!
All my love,
Margherita

ps today I was back to the lake and I saw such a wonderfully peaceful scene: a family of swans, father, mother and three young ones were swimming right in front of the house and they came to relax on the small beach. It was lovely to observe them. Sadly I didn't have the camera with me ... but I have it in my mind!

here a picture that is similar, but the baby-swans were three and a little bigger

I’m open to love
my heart invites you to dance
come share my delight

Dear Margherita,

thank you kindly for posting your beautiful poem for all of us to enjoy, and thank you for sharing the lovely picture of the geese.

Summer was very hot for me as well, but I still enjoyed the company of my family, as you enjoyed the company of your lovely grandsons.
The fall promises to be nice here as well.

It is good to see everyone here again.

Love,
yoko

Dear Teo and dear Yoko, it is such a joy to find you here too with your most loving comments.
I am so grateful that the temperature dropped a little, I feel the energy coming back!
Yes, fall will be wonderful no doubt, I have seen the first signs ... leaves begin to change color and to drop. A different kind of blooming lawn!

I wrote a haiku to go with the beautiful scene of the family of swans and I want to share it here with you:

Amazing grace scene:

swans glide upon smooth waters

demonstrating peace

Love and hugs.

The weather is still quite warm here. I think the summer came late; but you are right, the leaves are changing colour a bit, the fresh, bright green is fading and there are some leaves dropping to the ground. Autumn here is always very nice.

Love,
Inda

Dear Margherita,

thank you very much for your very beautiful poem,
the little haiku and the images.

It is very nice to see you back. I am glad that you had a nice time with your grandsons. The little ones grow up so fast, so we must make the most of their childhood.

Love,
Vicky 2Hearts
