Stargazing with you


Embedded in the lushness
of untamed summer scented grass
promising secrecy to our whispers,
with only our fingers entwined
we called for the performance
of the night sky starring Universe.

We traveled far into the infinite
bedazzled by the flickering light,
touching base for a single sigh
upon vaguely known constellations
and baptizing new ones that fit
our own eccentric imaginations.

Gazing right through the Milky Way
into the staggering cosmic depths,
we drifted along divine trails of light
like silent sailing vessels at night
as swiftly we decoded the messages
showered upon us as if in Morse signs.

Lost in the magnificence of this view
I turned to gaze into the eyes of you
where I found your soul's reflection
mingled with patterns of twinkling stars.
You held me captive there, willingly glued,
ready to begin our dance into oblivion.

Dawn spread its smile over the meadow,
the grass stirred and stretched in rapture
to the fading echoes of our one soul song.
