Midnight splendor blooms

silk petals open in grace

stars tremor in awe

My dear friends. I witnessed tonight the blooming of five cactus flowers on my balcony and I must say their beauty moves me!

They began to open in the evening and fully bloomed right at midnight!

Me and my son took some pictures. I hope you enjoy them too. They bloom just for one single night! My son made a few spectacular pictures, but I have now just downloaded mine.

This is absolutely amazing, and incredibly beautiful. It must have been a really wonderful experience to look upon these flowers.

I have a cactus, but it hasn't bloomed in years.

SEVEN more flowers are getting ready to bloom!! It makes me soooooooooo happy. I have to watch every day and night to not miss the magical moment. First they are just a tiny little hairy bud, then suddenly they begin to stretch and the stem grows up to 10-12 centimeters then the bud itself grows and when one can see the intense mauve color of the back of the petals then the moment is near. Then the bud seems to fill with air and then almost in an instant it unfolds all its magnificence ... magical!
