Honesty's wings

Grey turned the sky
Over a single lie
We now cry
You and I

You and I
So close by
Wondering why
We can't fly...

As answers lay buried deep within
Minds that just won't see.

The heart's way becoming thin
Lacking the blood of honesty.

Blind we pretend to be
Not even seeing
We could never be free
In always, denying.

We shiver in the presence of the light
Bringer of clarity upon our very plight

Why pretend ignorance?
When we know deliverance
Never was at distance

It was always close by
Between you and I
As the language of souls
Perfect and whole.

For truth simply spoken
Alleviate most burden

Then on honesty's wings

We can fly
Again
You and I
