Simon mon amour

I used your shampoo today
the one you left here
when you last visited.
With every movement
of my head now
your fresh fragrance
dances in my mind.
And in the dimly lit corridor
your sweet voice resounds
and sunshine suddenly
floods this place.
I hear your laughter
filling the empty space
and I remember with a smile
the fun we had here
when we played football,
frightening cat Zelda
out of our area,
as we got excited
and maman said
we were too wild.
My heart leaps in joy
when I perceive the echo
of your happy proclamation
“goal, nonna, goal!”,
(of course you always won).
Can’t wait to play again,
my sweet little Prince,
see you in December!
For now let me kiss
your golden curls
across the distance.
Simon, mon amour,
Amorottolo di nonna …
mein Schätzchen
mein Sonnenschein!

You hear different idioms
in this family
but the one you already
know to perfection
is the language of the heart.
I love you, Simon.
Je t’aime de tout mon coeur.
God bless you.

Love,
Margherita Smile

This is a precious poem, dear DF.

Thank you for shring your feelings and your joy with us.

I know how bless you feel to have this little angel in your life and I know how bless he is to have a Nonna like you.

And...I bet Zelda got frightned a bit...but this wise cat surely knows that this game was all about LOVE and Fun between Nonna and Simon. Smile

I love you DF,
Sylvie

Thank you girls for the loving replies, which fill me with joy.

Dear Sylvie, today Simon called and asked "Nonna tu es un peu malade?" because of my cavernous voice (cold and cough!). Hearing his sweet voice instantly made me feel better.

He understands Italian, but of course he mainly speaks French, going now also to kindergarten. And when we are together I sing him my lullabies in German and he always says "encore". Btw "encore" was - after maman et papa - the first word he uttered. Now it's a pleasure to talk with him, his depth of thought is amazing. All children now are truly ahead of their age one would say.

Love and hugs.

Thank you Margherita for sharing Simon's poem and the pictures. He is a very lovely and special child.

Children are growing up fast today. You turn around and the child is a man or a woman.

It is nice that you were able to share some quality time with Simon.

Now you need some rest and get over your cold.

Love,
Sue Cat Cat

Thank you for sharing your beautiful writing and Simon's pictures. He is un cher petit fils.
(sorry, I can't print accents on this computer)
You are a very lucky and beautiful grand-mere.

Enjoy Simon's childhood while you can; you are right, children today are ahead of their time and they are grown up before you know.

Take care of yourself and get over the cold.

Sincerely,
Gisele

Thank you my dear friends for your loving comments. It is a joy to come in here and find your touch.
I am better, but I have not yet recovered my normal energy level, I must say.
I now played with Zelda, but was tired quickly. Gradually I will recover, it has been quite a long week not feeling well.
But you are right, we also need to rest, we can't always hurry around. My trip to Switzerland was wonderful, but I had such a busy program too, probably I overdid it.
Anyway, thank you all for caring!

Love and hugs.

Dear Teolove, thank you for your loving reply. I am so happy for you that you are going through this Grandmother Love and Admiration, it is never too late. She finally takes the place in your heart, where she belongs. I understand that you are excited about learning of this wonderful news that your Grandmother was a piano concertist. You see now where your passion is rooted.
This is fantastic, it will boost your enthusiasm and make you follow in her musical steps. You so deserve recognition and admiration too.

Love and hugs.
