Has anyone considered Having it All?

Hey everyone,

I just came across a book based on "Achieving Your Life's Goals and Dreams," (http://www.JohnAssaraf.com/youcanhaveitall) and I'm wondering if anyone else has heard of it and what they think? I'm considering getting a copy.

I've been a fan of John Assaraf's for quite some time (he was in the movie the Secret and had a vision board), so it sounds like something real awesome. After reading the two sample chapters he has up on his blog I'm even more intrigued. To get a taste of what I'm talking about and open some discussion here's a couple links for you:

Sample Chapters

"Your Powerful Brain," (http://www.johnassaraf.com/blog/2007/10/31/your-powerful-brain)
"The Laws of Earning Money," (http://www.johnassaraf.com/blog/2007/11/06/the-laws-of-earning-money)

Let me know what your thoughts are!

The book sounds very interesting and I think that we would all like to have it all. I might look for the book as well.

Welcome to Givnology Gean.
The book sounds very intriguing. I will look for a copy at the library. It certainly would be tempting to have it all, providing what we want will make us happy.

Welcome Gean and thank you for sharing the information.

I have not read John Assaraf's book, but it sounds interesting.

Like Sue said we would like to have it all, providing that it will bring us happiness, and bring happiness to others as well.

Thanks googols for the info! From the site:
quote:
Ask yourself whether your most dearly held beliefs are serving you or not. Do they help you create the life of your dreams? Or, do they limit you and the people you love?

Be bold enough and smart enough to see past where you are right now and take hold of what’s rightfully yours.

You deserve to decide for yourself exactly what and who you’ll become, and what you’ll acquire along the way. This book will guide you step by step on how to design the life of your dreams, and then how to live it."

Thank you for your post GeanSecret, and for your recommendation.

The topic is very tempting, but Buddha has a saying:

Not getting what you desire and getting what you desire can both be disappointing.

Oh thank you everyone for your kind words and great welcomes! What a fantastic place!

Did any of you actually check out the book?

I think it's important to realize that "Having it All" is more so the "there is no limit," point of view...in that if we want to have GREAT things in life, we have to SHOOT for Having it All. Of course, there's always MORE to wish for and want...that's our soul speaking! Our soul is always looking to unfold and expand and looking for new and great ways to express itself.

Some people think you can just have it all with your finances...

Some people think you can JUSt have it all with relationships...

Some people think you can JUST have it all with spirituality.

Some people think you can....You get the point.

We can "have it all" in all areas of our life if we truly dedicate ourselves to going after them! (Finacial goals, relationship goals, spirituality goals, health goals, business/career goals)

That's why I love the book so much! As you can tell, I did end up getting it and it is just absolutely fantastic! John's studied Neuroscience for 25 years and implements his learnings into his teachings in the book. It is great stuff. I love how he has goal setting procedures for each area of life (the ones I just listed)

So my question, did anyone actually check it out? Thanks for the great replies!

Thank you for the added information.
I did actually check out the book, one of my co-workers got it from your suggestion. We need to spend a little more time with it, but so far it looks very good.

That's so exciting to me Vicki! You know how good it feels to know that something you said motivated another person to do something that's going to be beneficial?! yay! Smile

I'm curious, did you order through Amazon so you could get the additional "Bonus gifts" -- If so you just put in your amazon order number at www.johnassaraf.com/youcanhaveitall

Hope that's helpful! Do let me know how you and your co-worker like it. I'll look forward to your reply.

I think the book came from Barnes and Noble.
We will not have much time during the holiday season. This is a busy time at work as well as at home. After Christmas our office will be closed for a while, so we will be able to spend some more time with the book after New Years. We also have to catch up on several other books.

Have a nice holiday season and a happy 2008.

Love,

Hey Vicky! I here you about having some books to catch up on! Man oh man there are SO many I'm just craving to devour. But, it's wise to not just soar through the books, but to spend some time with each one, absorb the material, and really truly understand it! So often people just run through books, which is nice...but ultimately they just become simply a resource to lose yourself and not pay attention to other things that are going on in your life. You know what I mean? I've found that it's great to really spend time with a book so it's something you actually learn, instead of using as a simple distraction to life.

Anyhow, hope you had a great christmas and a happy new year!

I'm still going to look for the book... and really appreciate you sharing your wonderful excitement with it Gean'y.. he he..

Some things I find in the big picture, that I thought I wanted, it is better for close friends to have! Also, some things that I may have "all" of, I can't really tell people... they might be jealous..

example:

I'm working on Beethoven's symphony #9 transcribed by Franz Liszt, getting into playing both hands piano - AND singing the lyrics! But... how ultimately nerdly huh? he he.. Visor Snoring so... I might not tell people EXACTLY what I'm playing, they won't get it! but...

Like I said before, I find that having your energy, sharing this great book - and reminding us to actually sit down and REALLY digest it - this is an incredible value, wealth, sort of.. like.. HAVING IT ALL! he he.. Bounce

Hoping you had happy holidays as well.
