Dear friends,

We are ever-positive at Givnology, but I wanted to share this boff-worthy information, for food for thought.

From: http://thetalkingdrum.com/wil.html

This speech was delivered by Willie Lynch on the bank of the James River in the colony of Virginia in 1712. Lynch was a British slave owner in the West Indies. He was invited to the colony of Virginia in 1712 to teach his methods to slave owners there. The term "lynching" is derived from his last name.

Willie Lynch The Making Of A Slave

quote:
(From the last paragraph)
You know language is a peculiar institution. It leads to the heart of a people. The more a foreigner knows about the language of another country the more he is able to move through all levels of that society. Therefore, if the foreigner is an enemy of the country, to the extent that he knows the body of the language, to that extent is the country vulnerable to attack or invasion of a foreign culture. For example, if you take a slave, if you teach him all about your language, he will know all your secrets, and he is then no more a slave, for you can't fool him any longer, and BEING A FOOL IS ONE OF THE BASIC INGREDIENTS OF AN INCIDENTS TO THE MAINTENANCE OF THE SLAVERY SYSTEM.

That is a small section at the end but got me thinking, how so many African Americans are proud of their slang, though it is true the word ain't is great ain't it?

I feel it is deplorable how popular artists who youth idolize talk with language that would make the devil blush. Potty mouths should be washed out with soap!

It is so ignorant when someone curses and has a filthy mouth and someone says: "He's talking black." This ignorance of language was a part of the slavery system and especially now black people need to break this link in the chain of mental slavery. Amen.

Thank you for sharing the information Teo. Even the whole business of slavery is very depressing ,I am happy that you provide human beings with this information.
May everyone be entitled to their education, and not be left in ignorance; even though, I believe that a lot of the so called enlightened human race is ignorant with all the knowledge that we are supposed to have.

Thank you Teo.
I hope that all people will have the chance to learn to speak their language properly, and that they will feel proud to speak well. This is a very interesting post.

Well said Gisele. "So called enlightened" is right! So called HUMANITY!

Luckily, we have some rather enlightened souls here @ Givnology... thanks God and Angels!!! Asian Angel

Those members in Toronto, Canada, well, you have a special place in my heart. Did you know:

York the original name of Toronto, was the first place where slavery was illegal?

Niagara Falls was where they could sneak over the border, to St. Catherines the town next door. You can see Toronto from that side of lake Ontario I believe!

Harriet Tubman took over 100 trips down south to rescue slaves, bringing them to (truly enlightened) Ontario. Abducted

Telling Torontonians about slavery is like preaching to the choir - they're already awakened beings! Colors Colors

But the truth is just what we've all been focusing on: EDUCATION IS THE KEY!!! Yes

Specifically, smart communication skills are imperitive! Sadly, people say "talking black" is that filth that passes as entertainment nowadays... Aaah

I think how Sammy Davis Jr.s song "Candyman" was so sweet.. he he.. and.. what a difference in the popular African-American music of the day huh? SEEMS THEY DROPPED OUT! AAaaahhh... Nat King Cole... Harry Belefonte... the good old daze...

May our sharing of information be fun and helpful. Amen. And so it is.

Love and LIGHT BEING, Teo SystemError Kick Fire Brain Wiggum Wiggum
